SUnny Rainy Day and Egg throwing at IAV

So Today, it was shiny.the sun was way up in the sky and there was no sign of a rainy weekend.I love the rain.It has been a month we've been there, and we're finnaly getting to hang out in our own sweet "buvette".Not quiyt yet, but soon enough.Passing by it, it's starting to take shape and it's gorgeous,it has now this big balcony where smokers can sit and live us breath a normal air and not be smoking their discharges.
Hazing is a term used to describe various ritual and other activities involving harassment, abuse or humiliation used as a way of initiating a person into a group.

With November starting, it's time to party at School. This is the last week of the hazing (bizutage) and i'm really glad to see that the olders are really having fun time.Finnaly something exciting. So friday they started "the military hazing".Lemme Explain: we gather our freshmen by groups and we take theim to the sport court where we already have been digging holes all over and put knits over it and poored water on it.So after makin theim run, and sweat, we order theim to sit on their knees both hand beside necks and just have fun throwing eggs and flour and water balloons at theim...You guys, cannot imagine how fun is that !! and then after we've finished with our selfish little game they have to pass by the hole full of dirt and..SMILE..we take their pictures all beautifully dirty. As for the boys, we cut theim a piece of hair, not any piece, a piece such as they have to shave their whole head to have a decent appearance.Oh and then they can go !!!
Then again, that's all done with a lot of Love..Our goal is to make theim LOOOVE the school, us and the life here....Crap..They will eventually love the institute because you don't have really a choice, once you get into it,it's like a disease, you love it to death...I will though tell you why the elders are so unchained this year : Our nice freshmen wouldn't do any activity and they keep running away from everything the commitee of hazing had prepared from theim...SO it's like a revange time...Now what?
I love the hair part, in 2 or 3 days we'll have half of the dudes in second year with no hair...Some had really really nice ones..I'm a girl and i got jealous !!!
SO TWO THUMBS UP FOR THIS YEAR'S HAZING !!!

Thanks GOD,we've got Time...

I had my first class at 8am and I actually went.First because I missed the teacher (it has been 2 weeks we didn’t see him) and second because I was surprinsingly  awake quit soon to get my breakfast before heading to class.
Breakfast IS important to me.And it should be to everyone.I see the majority of my classmates who doesn’t have time to get one and they come to class in a rush. And they wonder why they aren’t concentrated enough with the lesson.Every meals has it’s place and is important to acquire a good energy throughout the day .
The refectory opened today. The Line was even bigger than usual, since the freshmens are taking it too.GOD,when I was a freshmen I couldn’t even get out of my own room, and for the whole month of “bizutage”.And there they go, ahead of us in the line and eating in the same table as us, and even smiling at us.How dary is that !! But no worries, they will be all smiling when theim boys are gonna get their head shaved, all of theim.I can’t wait to see the results.
Let’s straighten things up, I LOVE freshmens, they are fun, little and so afraid of everything (I know how it feels, I’ve been there). And personnaly I’m not really keen on brutalizing theim. But in our school it’s a habit, “so they can blend in with all of us” : that’s the goal of a month of terrorism and derision.Makes you think of all our students principles !! The only thing that’s bothering me is that they should be going through what I went through too…Fair enough!!
So, by the end of the class day, I HAD to go and make copies of the school books. Not that I love doing that, but I guess it was a must since I have a class where the teacher can’t go on without all the students having their books on tables (one to each ones..What the heck?!! ) .Oh, and since our Copy center at school is not working YET (Like everything else),I waited up for 2 hours (Seriously) and I was starving (didn’t have lunch), 2 hours to finnaly get my books and pay the lousy dude lots of money. Speaking of wich, that guy was so disturbed, he has been copying IAV’s books all week long and the poor man had have enough of us, loud and pretty impolite. He grew up this week to know all our classes, teachers name and even commun courses between different classes.Even with all that, at 4:30 when we all come out and remember that we actually have to copy lessons,we gather like 20 or more of us in the cubicle that serves him as copy center,we talk, we yell and we want our copies the quickest possible,The copy man was all over the palces and he couldn’t be done with any of us,because he would start a copy then another, then forget that he did start the first one(which was done by then). It was hilarious !! I pities him though that afternoon.
After all, what’s better than homemade stuff. LET’S ALL HAVE A SECOND OF RESPECT TO OUR SCHOOL COPY CENTER !!

Eat well and Smiles at the plumbers

Well, here we go again!! I opened my eyes this morning, feeling the warm sunday sun on my face and hearing the sounds of a stupid builder machine...And it was only 8 am, for a Sunday, that's a first.I went out to the balcony, just to see one of theim old, crapy builder looking at me.I hate theim. And it has been this way since we came back to our sweet school : dirt everywhere , builder staring at everyone and even forgetting to do their work , bathroom not working , no morning water and to Top it all : No food !! I mean, our Campus restaurant is not working anymore, they said it will be ready for tomorrow.I think it's about time, everybody is so tired of making his own food. but let's see the bright side, at least we know what we eat now that we cook it: it's natural, hygenic and very nutritional (in most cases) and going back to our so lovely refectory is gonna be a change.

If i had to label things : refectory food sucks !! Sorry, but it's true. The food balance is soooo Off track. And they keep filling us with all those classes of nutrition, healthy food..It gets pretty dizzy in our minds.

A healthy, well balanced diet is about eating the right quantity and variety of food from each of the main food group every day. It englobs protein, lipids, sugar and so on requirements for optimum nutritional balance that will ensure you get the right amount of every compounds in your diet. That, we all know but we can't ensure it. The meals we have are not only non-balanced but also not cooked the right way.So we find ourselves, us , who've been studying food science and nutrition for almost 5 years now, eating a meal composed with 90% of meat, who according to most of us is not a real meat ( we think it probably is E.T meat or maybe an animal we don't know by now) , no veggies and really weird sauces with an indifined origin.

I personnaly thinks we should get an expert so we can all eat healthy and enjoy our campus and well, study good. It's all connected : i sleep well, i eat well, i study well...Most of the time is (depends of what i'm studying ) :S !!!

The water doesn't heat on my floor, and the lights are not sufficient enough for the nights.I ru over a drugstore to buy a more powerfull light bulb but (there's always a but), once in my room, i realized that the little "thing" we put the bulbs on doesn't fit any other kind of light bulbs : so i am stuck with a really really painfull lightning that is really getting on my nerves since it's starting to giving me headaches and well, stomachaches (everything is connected to my darling stomach).

So i guess, i'll keep you updated with the situation in my sweet campus...Tomorrow the refectory will be opening. They shipped us new, great supplies from "TURKIA".I hope that would make the food at least eatable : Ha, no one is talking about delicious here !!!

My Exchange year

The bell rang.Midday, time to go home.I swing by the office to give theim back the attendance sheet. On my way out i just have the time to read the bulletin board. One posted paper attracted me,Iread it:”YES PROGRAM:be the next youth Morrocan Ambassador in the US”.I loved the idea and once home i talked to my parents about it.Seing my excitement, they couldn’t say nothing but accepting my idea and encouraging it.From there everything went by so fast.Without even realizing it,i found myself in the airport, saying goodbye to my family and friends.
YES program gave me a new perspective by studying in an American high school and living with american families. The goal of the program is the exchange of culture and the mutual understanding and respect between americans and the countries with significant muslim population.During this year, i participated in special enrichment activities that included community services(Campus clean up,Kids night out,Girl Scout,Armed Forces Festival....),youth Leadership training, civics educations program and other activities.I also got my honorary american high school diploma and i am a member of the American National Honor Society.Iwas also very proud to serve as a cultural ambassador for my home country,Morocco, representing my own rich heritage to my host community.
I learned the sens of responsability, created a tolerence spirit, flexible, and willing to engage itself for promoting the intercultural understanding.
